Employee Consulting Activities


The District may approve the release of employees from their regular roles, duties and responsibilities, who, because of some exceptional knowledge or expertise, are requested to act as a speaker or consultant outside of the District.


  1. Employee consulting activities must be compatible with the philosophy and procedures of the District.
  2. The Deputy Superintendent may approve limited leaves of absence without pay for this purpose of up to a maximum of three (3) days per school year per employee. These activities must be at no cost to the District and must not interfere with the employee’s regular duties and responsibilities.
  3. Request for leaves for this purpose must be forwarded to the Deputy Superintendent at least six (6) weeks prior to the requested release date and must include all relevant details regarding the request. The request must be accompanied by a letter of support from the employee’s immediate supervisor or Principal.
  4. The District must be informed if the employee is to receive additional compensation or benefits for their services, other than the cost of expenses/substitutes.
